Event - Valuing Difference

27 January 2016

On Wednesday 27th of January Sue and Anita from Leicestershire County Council visited school. The children learned about cultures, beliefs and valuing the fact that everyone is different.

Each child was given a potato and asked to draw and describe it. They were then asked to make assumptions about people from the photographs shown to them. The message was it was not possible to know about someone just by looking at them.

As a child in class 3 said, ‘We shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.’

Getting to know our potato.
Drawing our friend.

Giving some great answers.
Making decisions.

What’s his name?
My new best friend.
