Event - The Keys to our New Hall: A Day of Firsts!

19 January 2009

At precisely 1pm on Monday, 19th January 2009 all the pupils and staff witnessed the keys to our new hall being handed over to Mrs Hopkins by Mick, the site manager of Seddons the builders.

Due to a few technicalities, the children were not able to go in until the following morning, and when they did you could hear the squeals of delight from miles away!

A competition to suggest ideas for possible uses of the hall, was sent home and the first sheet out of the bag determined who would be the first pupil to ever set foot in the hall. Suggestions ranged from a variety of sports, to shows, discos and giant sleep-overs!

The winner was Alfie, our Year 3 superstar sports all-rounder, closely followed by the first girl, Riona and then the Year 6's who had the privilege of being the first year group in.

The official opening of the hall will be on Thursday, 12th February and will be led by England International cricketer, Luke Wright. Luke was a former pupil of Redmile School, so it'll be interesting to see his reaction to this amazing building. The day will be an exciting one for the children and who are getting their autograph books ready and for our whole school community!
